Student Testimonials

The help I received through the Career & Employment Services Office at the UofL helped me take my existing skills and perfect them.  With the aid of the Resume/Cover Letter, On-Campus Recruiting, and Interview workshops, I was able to prepare for my job search and begin my dream career as a Chartered Accountant! Thank you CES staff in helping me obtain my career.

Barrett Bettger - Accounting (4th year)

I have gained numerous benefits from the Career & Employment Services office, through attending career/job search workshops and spending one-on-one time with the advisors. The staff at CES are very resourceful and they do their best to prepare you for the business world. I now know how to professionally represent myself during an interview and also how to prepare a successful resume and portfolio. This knowledge will definitely help me to better succeed in the future!

Aylin Menasaka - International Management (3rd year)

All the services offered by CES, from interview workshops to the one-on-one sessions, resume & cover letter review, and job/career search tips, have helped me towards obtaining this position (as an Instructional Designer), and to develop my professional confidence. All this has led me to the point I’m at now, a chance to prove that I have what it takes to be successful in my field!

Layne Plourd - BFA - New Media

My fast tracked career in local government got its start with the University of Lethbridge CES team.  Throughout my degree I attended workshops, employer information sessions, career fairs, and one-on-one career & employment advising sessions. Because of CES's broad range of resources and services offered I was exposed to the Alberta Municipal Internship Program for Administrators, for which I was successful in competing for.  CES helped me explore career directions I would not have otherwise considered.  The career & employment advisors were especially helpful at encouraging me to consider all my options while also focusing on my strengths. CES encourages students to be persistent, confident, and to stay in contact.  Ultimately when you work with CES you feel like you have their support wherever you go even after graduation.

Erin Sanderson - B.A. Psychology

Through completing the resume, job search, interview and portfolio preparation workshops through CES, I was able to learn valuable skills that will help me with my future career. I have built confidence which will be effective during job interviews and guidelines were provided in order to set me on the right track for my career! Thanks CES!

Alicea Praeker - International Management (3rd yr)

Career & Employment Services helped me to prepare getting into a graduate study and develop awesome curriculum vitae (CV) that landed me a graduate school in Mathematics Department, at Simon Fraser University with combining studies with computer science and Mathematics! Their friendly personalities and encouragements really made a difference and I recommend every student, whether 1st or 4th year, to visit them - they really helped me get prepared & now I am looking forward going to SFU!!!
