Job Shadow

Job shadowing (or work shadowing) is on-the-job learning, career development, and is also a leadership development opportunity. Job Shadowing involves working with another employee who might have a different job and who may have something to teach, or can help the person shadowing learn new aspects related to the job, organization or competencies.

Job Shadows may also involve individuals not employed at the university who are exploring careers and determining their interests.

Job Shadow opportunities at the University must be approved and supported by the Faculty or Department lead and the Job Shadow Experience UofL Scope and consent form must be completed and submited prior to the start of the shadowing experience:
