Health & Safety Committees

Committees provide an opportunity for faculty, staff and students to participate in health and safety.  The University has formal instituional health and safety committees such as the Health and Safety Advisory Committee and the Joint Biosafety and Radiation Safety Committee. Campus Safety also plays an important role in several committees within the University community.

Health and Safety Committees at the Faculty or Department level are encouraged in order to identify concerns, propose solutions and collaborate on health and safety initiatives.

Health & Safety Committee Training:  the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety has developed a free introductory course to help committee co-chairs and representatives learn about their roles and responsibilities. A certificate is provided upons successful completion.
