Cora Jewell Hastings died in Lethbridge, Alberta on January 30th, 2011. Born in Mercer, Pennsylvania, on December 7th, 1925, Cora immigrated to Canada in 1967 to accept a position at the University of Lethbridge. She was the founding Coordinator of the Faculty of Education Curriculum Laboratory located in the University Library. She retired from the Faculty of Education in 1984. In her retirement, she devoted time to her family’s history, and published three books of historical papers. Cora is lovingly remembered by many friends who have been touched by her wisdom and kindness. She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews in Pennsylvania and Tennessee.

A Memorial Service was held on Friday, February 4, 2011 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPL, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge, with Reverend Deb Lannon, officiating. Interment took place in Pennsylvania at a later date.
