Phase I: Research

U of L's success in commercializing early stage technology is driven by the outstanding quality of its research activities and expertise.

New inventions arise out of basic, applied and sponsored research.

According to U of L Policy, a member has control over the direction, integrity and use of his or her IP, as a general principle, the ownership lies with the creator of the IP. In the event that the researcher is interested in commercialization of IP or intending to disclose one's IP to parties interested in commercialization, the researcher must fully disclose to the Board (through the UILO) his or her IP according to Article 30 of the U of L Policy.
