Undergraduate Research Enrichment

University of Lethbridge students who are actively participating in research and/or creative activities with University of Lethbridge faculty members may apply to attend a recognized symposium or conference related to the research or creative work. Preference will be given to students who obtain financial support from other sources and are requesting funding to augment other funds. Awards will be limited to travel costs associated with a research presentation. The maximum available per student throughout the course of their undergraduate program is $200. Funds are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

Application Procedure

Applicants must apply for funding and receive notification of their award, prior to attending the conference and prior to submitting conference expenses.

Submissions should include:

  • the name, date and location of the conference
  • the student's role in the conference
  • a rationale for attendance at the conference
  • a breakdown of the costs associated with attendance at the conference, including financial support from other sources, and noting the amount requested from the Undergraduate Research Enrichment Fund
  • a letter of support from their supervisor detailing the value of the student's attendance, and indicating whether or not they will be providing financial support for the student

Submit applications to Connie Chaplin, Undergraduate Student Research Officer, Office of Research Services, three weeks prior to the conference.
