University of Lethbridge Travel Fund (ULTF)

The maximum amount available to any eligible faculty member, professional librarian or academic assistant is $900 per travel year. Applicants whose contract is for less than 12 months or less than full load may qualify for a reduced amount on a pro-rated basis. Eligible applicants will be reimbursed in accordance with the normal University travel regulations. The basis for approving applications for travel funds will be on the following list of priorities:

Application Procedure

FIRST PRIORITY:

Faculty members, professional librarians and academic assistants taking an active part in the dissemination of research or artistic works (e.g. the presentation of papers or posters at professional meetings, conferences, or workshops; the presentation of artistic performances or exhibitions; and acting as an invited discussant at a professional meeting, conference, or workshop; excluding conference organization activities). It is the responsibility of the applicant to provide the Travel Committee with written proof of such participation (e.g., letter of acceptance of paper, copy of program, etc.) prior to release of the travel award funds.

Please note that the title of the paper, poster, exhibition or performance is required on the application. Only one award will be given per paper, poster, exhibition or performance.

SECOND PRIORITY:

Faculty members, professional librarians and academic assistants not taking an active part in the dissemination of research or artistic work (e.g. attending a professional meeting, conference, or workshop to see others' work presented and to interact with other professionals in one's field of study; attending an artistic performance or exhibition to see others' work presented and to interact with other professionals in one's field of study; and attending in an organizational or planning capacity). It is the responsibility of the applicant to provide the Travel Committee with written documentation to support their application.

Please note that due to limited resources second priority applications may not be funded. Applications will be reviewed and awards made by the travel committee on a case-by-case basis when sufficient funds are available.

The first-come, first-served formula is applied to both priority categories.
