University CREDO Committee

Terms of Reference:

  1. To serve in an advisory capacity and help determine the criteria, guidelines and deadlines for the Community of Research Excellence Development Opportunities (CREDO) grant.
  2. To review CREDO grant applications.
  3. To recommend the disbursement of CREDO funds which are made available to the University to administer in ways that stimulate and support social science and humanities research activities.
  4. To provide mentorship to CREDO applicants if requested.
  5. To participate in workshops and panel discussions which enhance the grantsmanship culture in the Social Sciences and Humanities.
  6. To provide peer review to faculty applying for external funding, particularly from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC).

Membership Terms:
Faculty members will be requested to serve on the committee by the VP, Research. Membership will be approved by the Dean. Terms will be for two years and will overlap to ensure continuity; reappointment is acceptable.

Miscellaneous Information:
The Committee will be advised of the amount of monies available for distribution each competition.
