Funding opportunity: Green Talents

Apply now and you could be awarded as one of the 25 outstanding young scientists who become a Green Talent in 2013.

The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research is holding the 5th round of its prestigious "Green Talents: International Forum for High Potentials in Sustainable Development."

"Green Talents" will be invited to a two-week science forum, touring Germany in the fall of 2013. This will provide recipients with unique access to some of the country's hot spots of sustainable development but also allows participants to exchange ideas with peers and senior scientists.  Following the forum, awardees will be invited to return to Germany for an additional research stay of up to three months at an institute or company of their choice.

To be eligible, you must:

  • be working on innovative green solutions from an interdisciplinary point of view;
  • be enrolled in a Master/PhD program or already hold a graduate degree with significantly above-averge grades;
  • have an excellent command of the English language;
  • be up to 32 years old; and
  • be a non-German citizen, residing outside of Germany.

Application deadline is June 9th, 2013. Twenty-five awards will be made.
