AGRI Small Grants

Goals of AGRI:

  1. To encourage, foster, and solicit research to better understand the role and impacts of gambling on the individual and society;
  2. To ensure research is collaborative and has stakeholder support;
  3. To support the development of research capacities across broad research disciplines;
  4. To contribute to making research accessible, useful and applied.

All research proposals are subject to expert peer review prior to approval. The Institute-funded initiatives to date are identified on the Institute's website – see https://abgamblinginstitute.ca/research.

It is anticipated that this developmental funding will assist newer gambling researchers to compete successfully for other granting agency and/or Institute major research grants and encourage non-traditional researchers to enter the field of gambling studies.

ELIGIBILITY

Only researchers and graduate students working at one of the three Alberta partner universities (University of Alberta, University of Calgary, or University of Lethbridge) are eligible to apply. At the time of application, project personnel must demonstrate appropriate levels of research training and expertise in relation to the proposed activities.
