Once the IDF and accompanying documents have been secured and the inventor(s) have chosen the UILO as the service provider, then, the assessment begins. Please note that the assessment may take up to 45 calendar days based on the capacity of the UILO Office.
Please refer to the UILO’s SOP at the end of this Section. The assessment is a thorough process in which the disclosure is examined for its uniqueness, its utility, the marketability of the invention, an examination of the data submitted, prior art (ie. any similar inventions disclosed to the public). Proprietary and open databases are scoured based on the data presented to the UILO.
The findings are compiled and revealed in a brief Invention Report. This Report is then presented to the inventor(s). Based on these findings, the UILO determines whether to continue down the commercialization process as described above.
