The University of Lethbridge has two Tier II Canada Research Chairs (CRC) remaining in its allocation. The Office of the Vice President Research is soliciting proposals to fill these Chair positions. Tier II Chairs are awarded for a five year term and are targeted at exceptional emerging researchers (less than 10 years from receipt of a doctoral degree) who are acknowledged by their peers as having the potential to lead in their fields.
Individual faculty members, Departments, Research Centres/Institutes, or informal academic teams are invited to submit proposals that address research opportunities that could be realized through the CRC programme. Submissions that outline potential impact in the arts, social sciences or humanities are particularly encouraged. Note that we are not necessarily looking for names of candidates but rather thematic proposals that outline an area of expertise that would bring a new and value-added research component to The University of Lethbridge.
Submit a two page document summarizing the rationale for the proposed chair. The submission should address the following:

Final decisions will be made by February 15, 2012.
