About The President
![]() Dr. William (Bill) Henry Cade is President and Vice Chancellor of The University of Lethbridge. He is a zoologist and entomologist by profession and holds degrees (BA, MA and PhD) from The University of Texas at Austin. He is a native of San Antonio, Texas and immigrated to Canada in 1977. Dr. Cade is a citizen of the United States and Canada. He is a member of Rotary, and serves on the Alberta Economic Development Authority where he chairs the Sustainable Development Committee. He has served on the Board of the United Way of Lethbridge and is involved in a number of community activities. Dr. Cade also chaired the Universities Coordinating Council of Alberta and the Canadian Organization of Western University Presidents. Before coming to Alberta Dr. Cade was Professor of Biology and Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Science at Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario. Dr. Cade was heavily involved with service organizations and the development of partnerships between Brock University and external groups including the boards of the Niagara Agricultural Weather Network, and Taste of Niagara, a group devoted to increasing the use of Niagara produce in Ontario restaurants. Dr. Cade was also named the Niagara - Royal Bank Citizen of the Year in 1998 for promoting the interests of the Ontario grape and wine industry. Click here for his curriculum vitae. |
