The English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Program at the University of Lethbridge provides language learning opportunities for speakers of English as a Second or Other Language (ESOL).
The goal of the program is to prepare students linguistically and culturally for success in their post-secondary academic studies. Students work to build a solid foundation of academic English language skills and knowledge, to prepare them for the language demands of undergraduate course work.
The EAP courses are delivered by a team of qualified and experienced teaching staff who use communicative methodologies, up-to-date resources, and technology to enhance learning in writing, reading, communication, and grammar courses.
We offer three levels of study in our EAP Program:
Each level of study takes one semester (four months) to complete; a placement test on the first day of classes will determine which level you begin in. Our semesters for EAP begin in January, May, and September.
Summer 2010 semester: May 3 - July 22, 2010
Fall 2010 semester: September 8 - December 17, 2010
The costs to study in our EAP program for one semester are outlined below*:
| Tuition | $3,483 |
| Recreation | $76.55 |
| Health Insurance | $250 |
| Books & Supplies | $250 |
| Living Expenses | $3,335 |
| Total | $7,394.55 |
*All costs are listed in Canadian Dollars, and are estimates; actual costs may vary.
