So You Want to Learn to Code With Python: Intermediate | Mar. 28

This hands-on workshop will build upon the skills taught in the introductory session. Students attending this workshop will receive credit on their MyExperience Transcript.

Requirements:

  • It is strongly recommended that participants complete the first Python tutorial, or at least have a basic understanding of:
    • Data types: integers, floats, booleans, and strings
    • Variables and assignment
    • Comments
    • Functions
    • Data structures: lists and dictionaries
    • If, else, and elif conditional statements
    • While and for loops
  • Participants must have a Google account to be able to use Google Colab

In this workshop you will learn:

  • More fundamentals of programming in Python such as reading and writing to files and importing libraries
  • How to debug your code
  • An introduction to machine learning and data visualization
