What is an Experimental Mathematics Lab?

Abstract:  We describe various models of creating communities of mathematical explorers, inspired by our work at Illinois and Washington, and earlier work at Maryland. We will outline how we think any Math department can be the center of a vibrant mathematical community.

About WXML:  The  Washington Experimental Mathematics Lab (WXML) is a group of mathematical explorers (faculty, students, and community members) that showcase mathematics as a creative discipline, via experimental, computational, and specially visual mathematics. "
