The program includes the premiere of a new work for solo baritone saxophone by faculty member George Boenn, as well as the Sonata for Alto Saxophone and Piano by David Maslanka (b.1943).

Chee Meng Low is Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Band at the University of Lethbridge, where he conducts the Wind Orchestra, and teaches saxophone performance, conducting and musicianship skills. He is also involved with the Edmonton Saxophone Quartet, U of L Faculty Wind Sextet, Symphonic Winds of NSO Malaysia, and has performed as a soloist, chamber musician and guest conductor in North America, Europe and Asia. Under his direction, the U of L Wind Orchestra has performed at prestigious events and venues including Edmonton Winspear Centre, Calgary Rozsa Centre, the Alberta Music Conference, Canadian Cantando Festivals and many outreach concerts in Southern Alberta.

Pianist Deanna Oye is Chair of the Department of Music at the University of Lethbridge, and an active solo and collaborative performer in Canada and the United States. Recent performances include the University of Lethbridge's Music at Noon series; Lakehead University's LUMINA concert series; collaborative recitals in Rochester, Syracuse, and Geneseo, New York; the Bowdoin Summer Music Festival in Brunswick, Maine; and broadcasts on Buffalo's National Public Radio program, Opus: Classics Live. She was the official pianist for the 2003 Richard Miller Vocal Performance and Pedagogy Institute, an event bringing the internationally-renowned pedagogue to Southern Alberta. Deanna has participated in numerous master classes including those conducted by composer George Crumb, cellists Steven Isserlis and Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, horn player Barry Tuckwell, violist Jürgen Weber, and pianists Janina Fialkowska, Anton Kuerti, and Roger Vignoles.
