Film Screening: The Woman Who Loves Giraffes - The Story of Anne Innis Dagg

ULFA’s Gender, Equity, and Diversity Committee invites you to a showing of The Woman Who Loves Giraffes, a documentary about Canadian biologist Dr. Anne Innis Dagg. In 1956, Dr. Dagg was the first person in the world to study animal behaviour in the wild. Despite her groundbreaking research, Dr. Dagg was denied tenure at two top Canadian universities. She walked away from academia and research for 30 years, only recently re-entering. This film illustrates one woman’s struggle against sexism in academia and how far we have – and haven’t – come in the past 60 years.
