FEBRUARY 13 - FEBRUARY 17 | 7:30 pm | University Theatre

The guests at Monskwell Manor are trapped, and to make matters worse, there’s a murderer among them!  The Mousetrap, a classic whodunit, by the best-selling novelist of all time, Dame Agatha Christie, takes to the University Theatre stage Feb. 13 – 17 at 7:30 pm nightly. Like any great murder mystery, the audience will learn through a fateful twist who the villain is, but must promise not to spoil the revelation to any future patrons!

Christie’s The Mousetrap opened in London’s West End in 1952, and has continuously run ever since, claiming to have the longest run of any play in history. Should the production continue its consecutive nightly run as it has since it began 63 years ago, it will surpass its 30,000th show in 2024! The Department of Drama is eager to present this diabolical tale of suspense and intrigue as part of its Mainstage season, inviting all to attend.

“This charming play has such wide appeal and is as entertaining as it is clever,” says director, Dr. Shelley Scott. “The dialogue is very proper, and in many senses, we’re presenting a very traditional style of play. From the box set, designed by Dave Smith, to the authentic 1950s period costuming by Jorge Sandoval, it will be fun for audiences to experience this classic play.”
