Danièle Archambault, Ph.D. (Linguistics), a researcher, author, and educator will discuss how comics provide an important window into culture and language through their form, allowing for the combination of images of everyday life with colloquial language.  She will talk about her collaboration on a series of educational projects, focusing on using comics as teaching tools in French classes, by allowing students not only to read but also to create visual narratives. Danièle Archambault is the author of three graphic novel series: Stairway stories, Québec-California, and A Year Without a Drink. Originally from Montréal, she now lives in Palo Alto, where she is artist-in-residence.
