FROM THE DECEMBER 2006 LEGEND
Every year Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) honours student athletes who excel in sport at the university level while maintaining at least an 80 per cent average in academics as Academic All-Canadians. This is an outstanding accomplishment considering the amount of time student athletes commit to training.
Pronghorn Athletics routinely possesses an above-average number of Academic All-Canadian recipients, considering the overall number of athletes at each university in the CIS.
The University of Lethbridge recently recognized 45 of its outstanding student athletes for achieving Academic All-Canadian honours in 2005-2006. The 45 athletes represent more than 20 per cent of the student-athlete body, and their success reflects the emphasis the Pronghorn program places on academics.
