FROM THE DECEMBER 2006 LEGEND
Operation Red Nose will be back for the 12th year of its annual December campaign in Lethbridge.
During the Christmas holiday season, individuals who have been drinking or who don’t feel fit to drive can be driven home in their own vehicles by a team of Red Nose volunteers. Pronghorn Athletics supplies the majority of volunteers, but there are also many community supporters.
Operation Red Nose runs from 9:30 p.m. to 3 a.m. every Thursday, Friday and Saturday in December and on New Year’s Eve.
There is no fee for the service, but donations are accepted. Over the past 11 years, more than $260,000 has been raised in support of the Pronghorn teams.
Anyone interested in volunteering should contact Pronghorn Athletics at 329-2681.
To take advantage of the Red Nose service and get a safe ride home, call 320-4155.
