Located in the panoramic beauty of southwestern Alberta, the University of Lethbridge attracts over 8,000 students from more than 80 countries to experience first-class education in a personalized setting. The Library houses a collection of approximately 1.3 million items and employees 13 professional librarians and 31 operational staff members, all actively sharing responsibility for the development and delivery of library programs and services to the University and its extended community. The University of Lethbridge Archives and records management units also rest with this position.

The University Librarian provides leadership in planning and directing the Library’s participation in the teaching and research programs of the University. Acting as an advocate for the Library, the successful candidate will have the ability to find common ground and motivate diverse academic communities to support a collective vision.

The ideal candidate will bring practical and managerial academic library experience, showing progressive responsibility in administration within a collegial setting, and have, at a minimum, a graduate level degree from an American Library Association (or equivalent) accredited program.
