The Department of Information Technology at the University of Lethbridge requires the services of a qualified Systems Support Specialist I to commence work as soon as possible for a 1 year project position.
As part of the Solution Centre team, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting faculty and students in the ITS Solutions Centre. Team members are responsible for supporting lab/classroom computer equipment including Windows and Macintosh computers with audio/visual equipment such as data projectors, DVD players and sound reinforcement. The successful candidate must also have excellent trouble shooting skills, and be able to quickly respond to service calls and diagnose issues. This position requires an understanding of computer equipment and peripherals, operating systems, networks, and audio/visual equipment, as well as good trouble shooting skills. To be successful in this position the successful candidate must be friendly, positive, calm and have tremendous interpersonal skills in stressful situations.

HIRING SALARY RANGE:$3,558.00 - $3,958.50 per month.
HOURS OF WORK: Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. – 11 p.m. (7hrs a day)
The ideal candidate will possess a college diploma or university degree in Computing Science or Information Technology. The incumbent must be proficient in both Windows and Mac environments, with thorough knowledge of Windows 7, and Mac OS X operating systems. In addition, prior experience with disk imaging software is an important requirement for this position. Knowledge of supported computer lab software packages including Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Visual Studio, and PASW Statistics would be considered an asset. The ability to maintain effective working relationships with the University Community and the general public is essential.
