The University of Lethbridge is Alberta’s destination university, with a commitment to enhance the internationalization of its graduate and undergraduate programs. International students make up 5.3% of current enrolment, and 90 countries are represented among students attending the University’s three campuses in Lethbridge, Calgary and Edmonton. The University offers international exchange and study abroad opportunities in many fields, as well as language services, summer programs, and a range of support services for students.
The University is seeking applications for the full-time continuing position of Manager, International Centre for Students, reporting to the Associate Vice-President (Students). The Manager is responsible for managing and administering the Office of International Affairs, the International Centre’s Summer Programs and the Language Centre for Students. The Manager also is responsible for working with individuals in the department and with other academic and non-academic units in support of the University’s internationalization activities. This includes developing a renewed vision for the International Centre for Students and preparing an annual international recruitment plan. Preference will be given to those who possess a graduate degree and have a minimum of three years related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates should have strong managerial experience, preferably in a post-secondary environment, superior communication and team work skills, and experience in dealing with issues and perspectives of an international nature. The ability to work at a comprehensive academic institution focused on teaching, research, and scholarship while building and maintaining relationships with on and off-campus stakeholders, including government agencies, is crucial to the success of the Manager.
