The Faculty of Arts and Science require the services of a qualified Administrative Support I in a continuing position, to commence work as soon as possible. We are seeking an individual with exceptional communication, customer service and organizational skills who will contribute positively to the effectiveness and efficiency of the Arts and Science Communications and Cooperative Education programs.
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $3,231.00 to $3,573.50 per month
The successful candidate should have a two-year Office Administration or comparable diploma, and at least a year’s experience in an office setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The position will require checking web job boards; posting and closing Coop/Internship positions; assisting with the preparation and participation in special events and other communications/recruitment activities; maintaining supplies and marketing materials; processing paperwork and student applications and grades; and assisting coordinators with booking/contacting students and employers. The position will also include part time (coffee breaks and vacation) coverage of the Career and Coop Services front desk.
The successful candidate will have proven organizational and administrative skills (including proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software, on-line tools, web site maintenance, and e mail), with great attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication, organizational, record-keeping, filing and telephone skills are essential. The successful candidate must also have great customer service skills, a demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment while dealing with interruptions and overlapping deadlines, and the ability to work as part of a team and maintain effective working relationships within the University, employers and the community as a whole.
