The Information Technology Department at the University of Lethbridge is seeking applications for the position of a Systems Support Specialist IV (Microsoft Systems Analyst). Reporting to the Manager, Systems and Communications Technologies, the successful candidate will be a member of a team responsible for maintaining the health and operation of the Microsoft Infrastructure, with a focus toward Microsoft Exchange. This position will be working with experienced network and system administrators to maintain and enhance the Microsoft practice in Infrastructure services at the University of Lethbridge. Responsibilities will include regularly conducting systems assessments and impact analysis including day to day monitoring and support of various systems aspects, including health, utilization, and overall systems performance. The Analyst will also provide second tier support to the Solutions Centre (Service Desk) in the resolution of complex customer trouble calls. This position will require the successful candidate to have an in depth knowledge of Microsoft systems including Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory. This position will require the ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex issues that may or may not be directly related. This position may also include minor periods of work outside of normal business hours, plus other various duties as required.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $4,686.00 - $5,304.50 per month.


The ideal candidate should have a University degree in Computing Science with 3 – 5 years of experience with Microsoft Exchange and other email systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The candidate will have experience with Active Directory, System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) and other systems relating to Microsoft Services. The candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of the design, setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of MS Windows Servers as well as strong knowledge of TCP/IP and data networking. A broad understanding of IT in terms of technology, processes, and methodologies would be a definite asset. The successful candidate will have excellent customer service and troubleshooting skills, familiarity with internet applications and a willingness to learn new technologies.

The ability to maintain effective working relationships in a team-oriented environment, both within the University community as well as the general public, is essential.
