The University of Lethbridge Information Technology Department is seeking applications for a qualified Network Analyst. Reporting to the Manager, Systems and Communications Technologies, the successful candidate will be a member of a team responsible for network management, operations, analysis, installation and support. This position will be working with experienced network and system administrators to maintain and enhance network systems in Infrastructure services at the University of Lethbridge. Responsibilities will include regularly conducting network assessments and impact analysis, including day to day monitoring and support of various network aspects, including network health, utilization, quality of service, plus provide customer support for both wired and wireless networking. This individual will provide second tier support to the Solutions Centre (Service Desk) in the resolution of complex customer network trouble calls. The Network Analyst is expected to have an in depth knowledge of wired and wireless data networks and the associated devices. This position will require the ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex issues that may or may not be directly network related. This position may also include minor periods of work outside of normal business hours, plus other various duties as required.
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $4,686.00 - $5,304.50 per month.
The ideal candidate should have a University degree in Computing Science with 3 – 5 years of related work experience in network analysis, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The candidate will have proficiency in Cisco based wired and wireless networks, and a very strong knowledge of TCP/IP and data network infrastructures. Experience with video conferencing, control systems (Crestron) and Cisco IP telephony will be considered an asset. The successful candidate will have excellent customer service and troubleshooting skills, familiarity with internet applications and a willingness to learn new technologies. The ability to maintain effective working relationships in a team-oriented environment, both within the University community as well as the general public, is essential.
