The Department of Housing Services requires the services of a Maintenance Worker I to commence work as soon as possible. This is a part-time (0.6 FTE) continuing position, which will move to full-time status in April 2013.
Reporting to the Chief Housing Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting department maintenance staff in performing maintenance as well as preventative tasks associated with the Housing Services facilities on campus. Typical responsibilities of this position would include such things as responding to work orders, completing move-in/move-out inspections and seasonal repair projects as instructed.
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $1,734.60 to $1,923.00 per month
(FTE $2,891.00 to $3,205.00 per month)
The successful candidate will have a minimum of a High School diploma, with some prior related work experience. The ability to perform manual duties assigned by others, including some strenuous physical exertion, working with small hand and power tools and completing simple maintenance repairs from a work order system. In addition, the incumbent must also be able to work in a team environment, with co-workers as well as others within the University setting, specifically students.
