THE UNIVERSITY OF LETHBRIDGE is seeking applications for one tenure track position in FINANCE on our Calgary Campus beginning July 2013 from persons with teaching and research interests in derivatives, investment and risk management. Rank is open but we are particularly interested in individual eligible for the rank of assistant or associate professor. The position requires an individual who holds a PhD in Finance or in a related field. The applicant must have a commitment to effective teaching and have demonstrated an ability to conduct scholarly research. We prefer possession of a CFA or CFP but do not require it for this position.We offer competitive salaries, reasonable teaching loads, paid study leaves, comprehensive benefits package as well as research and teaching support. This position is subject to budget approval.
Faculty of Management
The Faculty of Management values both teaching and research excellence. The Faculty of Management has campuses in Lethbridge, Edmonton and Calgary. Our Calgary campus is located in downtown Calgary. By offering all of our courses in the evenings and weekends, we provide faculty with a flexible timetable for engaging in research and other academic activities. There are opportunities for conducting research across disciplines. The Faculty of Management has 68 full-time faculty members with diverse research interests and 2300 students in a number of undergraduate majors across our 3 campuses. Approximately 800 students attend the Calgary Campus. Nearly all of the students are working adults. The Finance area has approximately 120 students and is experiencing growing enrolments. The Faculty has a research-based M.Sc. program and maintains close ties with the business community. Strong international exchange programs are in place for both students and faculty.
