We are seeking a customer service oriented individual who will take initiative and contribute significantly to the effectiveness of the operations of the Southern Alberta Region of Faculty of Social Work, University of Calgary. We are located on the campus of the University of Lethbridge.
The successful candidate will provide front-line reception services for the Unit and administrative support to the Head and Program Coordinators. Duties will include responding to enquiries from students and others, making referrals where appropriate; scheduling and preparing for meetings and events; drafting and distributing minutes, preparing correspondence and other documents; managing files and records; compiling and posting information for the website; and other related duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years related work experience; a diploma in secretarial or administrative sciences is an asset. Proven administrative skills (including proficiency with word processing and database software, on-line tools, e-mail and mail merge), with great attention to detail and accuracy are required, as are excellent communication, organizational, record-keeping, filing and telephone skills. The successful candidate must have a demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, dealing with interruptions and overlapping deadlines. and exercising independent judgment, while maintaining effective working relationships within the unit and with the University and professional communities in Lethbridge and Calgary.
