PHYSICAL EDUCATION FACILITY ASSISTANT I
(PROJECT POSITION)

The University of Lethbridge, Sport & Recreation Services (SRS) Department requires the services of a Recreation Facility Operator to commence work as soon as possible. This is a full-time project position ending on March 31, 2014 with the possibility of renewal. SRS is a fast-paced environment of multiple recreation facilities including new and renovated spaces. This position requires regular evening, weekend and shift work.

Reporting to the Operations Coordinator, the successful candidate will provide operations support services to all SRS facilities (Max Bell Regional Aquatic Centre, Centre for Sport & Wellness, Community Stadium) including the completion of work orders for on-demand maintenance, preventative maintenance, event setups and takedowns, building inspections and assisting in annual maintenance duties. This position will require minimal task supervision of casual staff during event setups and normal operation.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $3,313.00 - $3,686.50 per month.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate should have a High School diploma and a one-year college diploma in a related field. The successful candidate should have a minimum of two years working experience, strong public relations skills, Certification in Standard First Aid CPR C & AED, a valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License and knowledge of safe work policies and procedures in the building maintenance field. The successful candidate must be able to maintain effective working relationships with the University staff and general public.

Certification as a Swimming Pool Operator I and II would be an asset. The successful candidate will be required to enroll in these two courses over the course of the first year if certification is not already completed.
