PROGRAMMER ANALYST III

The University of Lethbridge requires the services of a qualified Programmer Analyst III to commence work as soon as possible. This is a continuing position and part of a team primarily responsible for the development and ongoing evolution of various enterprise class systems. As the University moves toward an expansion of its corporate platforms and capabilities, this position is a critical component to our success.

Under the direction of the Manager, Enterprise Systems, this position will also work very closely with the Principal Software Developer within the same area. He/she will be involved with enhancing and maintaining the University’s core Moodle Learning Management System (LMS). The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical skills in web application and web services development with a strong emphasis on PHP programming and PostgreSQL database maintenance, development and configuration. Proven capabilities and experience in customer engagement and requirements gathering processes is desirable.

HIRING SALARY RANGE:$4,686.00 - $5,304.59 per month.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Along with strong analytical and planning skills, the successful candidate will possess a technical Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 3 years work experience or a Diploma and 5 years work experience. Experience with integrating, developing and supporting business/educational applications will be a tremendous asset in assisting with the ongoing development and support of our Moodle platform. Preference will be given to those candidates who possess proven skills in PHP web application development and PostgreSQL database experience, as well as knowledge, capabilities and/or experience in business and technical analysis.

The incumbent must possess strong leadership, organizational, written and oral communication, business and technical analysis skills and must be a self starter and able to work with minimal supervision. The ability to build strong working relationships with faculty and staff is an asset.
