TUTORING PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Situated in southern Alberta, the University of Lethbridge is an institution with a unique mandate within Alberta’s post-secondary system and an evolving strategic plan to enhance its position as one of the best universities in Western Canada. The challenge continues and an opportunity now exists for an outstanding individual to join the University as a Tutoring Program Coordinator.

The Counselling Services department is seeking applications for a continuing, part-time Tutoring Program Coordinator. Reporting to the Unit Supervisor for Study Skills Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing and expanding the current multi-component Tutoring program. The Tutoring Program Coordinator will recruit, train and screen student tutors for appropriate matches with university students seeking academic support. As well, they will be responsible for monitoring all aspects of the student tutoring program including scheduling. The overall focus of the position will be to provide tutoring support for the academic success of University of Lethbridge students.

The ideal candidate will have a University degree and direct experience in a Post-Secondary environment. Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, as well as strong interpersonal skills are required. A creative approach to problem solving and the ability to build positive relationships not only with students, but with all members of the University community, are especially important to this position. In addition, a strong background in organizational skills, planning, and technical skills including Microsoft Office Suite is required.
