The University of Lethbridge Information Technology Department is seeking applications for the position of Applications Manager. As a key member of the IT Services department, this position will lead the development, implementation, and management of a program to evaluate, procure, deploy, and support key business applications for the University.

Reporting to the Manager, Transformation Solutions, the incumbent will be responsible for managing a team of skilled application support analysts, as well as developing and managing the Applications program within IT Services. This position will be highly collaborative in nature and will require engagement with business units across the campus as well as each of the units within IT Services.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related discipline, and a minimum of five years’ management experience in the information technology field. The incumbent must possess proven program and people management skills, and a solid technical background including specific experience with application support. Experience or certification in ITIL, COBIT, and Project Management would be an asset.

The successful candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills, as this position requires extensive coordination and collaboration with colleagues across the campus. Experience developing policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures and delivering compelling presentations would be beneficial. The incumbent must be highly motivated and self-directed, and prepared and equipped to develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for Applications Management within the University.
