The Office of Research and Innovation Services (ORIS) is a central support to the research community at the University of Lethbridge and is a valuable and important resource as research activity continues to grow. ORIS invites applications for a full-time Research Officer to commence as soon as possible.

Reporting to the Associate Vice-President Research, the Research Officer plays an important role in ensuring the continued growth and development of research and scholarly activity of the Social Sciences, Humanities, Fine Arts, Education and Management faculty at the University of Lethbridge. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: advising faculty members on the applicable policies, procedures and guidelines of the university and external sponsors; critiquing draft grant proposals and providing advice for changes and/or improvement; and, writing award nominations.

The ideal candidate will possess an earned graduate degree in the social sciences, humanities or fine arts and have experience in writing/reviewing grant/contract proposals. Although an advanced degree is preferred, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. The candidate must be familiar with national granting councils and other major sponsors of university research in Canada. The candidate must have superior interpersonal skills with an ability to establish strong relationships with the research community, across all disciplines at the University. The candidate must be highly organized, have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and have experience managing and coordinating a high volume of diverse activities under tight deadlines. Due to the nature of this position, the candidate must possess sound judgement, tact, diplomacy and discretion.
