Description: This opportunity can be used for a Summer 2012, Fall 2012 or Spring 2013 Applied Studies course. The events are not being held until March and May 2013 but there is a lot of preliminary work to be done. Some things will be completed in the summer time frame and others will get started on and will finish up closer to the events (such as the brochures, etc.)
Plan and prepare for this professional created concert directed by Fran Rude and Ken Rogers. Concert will include 17 vocalists and 37 orchestra members. You will apply for funding, plan the two-night event, and promote ticket sales. You will work with the directors personally.
•ability to create posters and programs on the computer,
•ability to write appropriately for a grant (how to write a grant will be taught),
•and the interest and/or experience to host an event.

Participants must also be prepared to register this for course credit through the Applied Studies program. Applied Studies applicants must work a minimum of 10 hrs/week (130 hours) for 13 weeks and have a minimum GPA of 2.00.
Applied Studies placements can be paid or volunteer work, depending on the employer. This is a volunteer opportunity.
