More than 65,000 Canadians and 4,000 Albertans live with HIV/AIDS with between 2,300 – 4,500 new cases of HIV reported nationally every year.

Saturday, December1, is World AIDS Day. The team at the Lethbridge HIV Connection invites you to join us as we commemorate this important date with two separate events. The first event will be our annual candlelight vigil, which will take place at the office of the Lethbridge HIV Connection (1206-6 Avenue South) on Friday, November 30 at 7:00 PM. The second event is our inaugural “Human Red Ribbon,” which will take plat at the Galt Gardens Park on December 1st. Members of the community are invited to come down to the Park to help form the largest human red ribbon possible. Everyone in attendance will be given a candle and candle holder before forming an AIDS Awareness Ribbon. The event is free, although donations will be accepted. The evening’s program will begin at 6:30 PM.

The Lethbridge HIV Connection Society is a volunteer-based not-for-profit organization that provides leadership in building individual and community capacity to respond to and reduce the harm associated with HIV and Hepatitis C in South-Western Alberta. Contact the office at 403-328-8186 for more information.
