Creating Accurate Messages about Ending Sexual Violence
Location: Campus Women’s Centre (SU 150)
When: Monday, October 15th 2012
In partnership with the YWCA’s Week Without Violence, LPIRG and Campus Women’s Centre invite you to a creative, informative and hands on workshop on Monday, October 15th from 4-5pm in the Campus Women’s Centre (SU 150).
We see many messages about sexual violence and the things people should do to end it. But are they accurate? Do they truly represent the reality of sexual violence? Are the tips they give effective and useful?
Join us for a session with the YWCA to learn about how we really CAN see an end to sexual violence and how we can remake the media to reflect accurate information about sexual violence and the things that we can all do to end it.
Poster making supplies will be provided free! Just bring yourself and (if you have any) some examples of media’s message about sexual violence. EVERYONE is welcome, because sexual violence affects us all.
Contact LPIRG for more information.
