This senior seminar will address the representation of indigenous women internationally. Through the application of indigenous feminist, postcolonial,and critical theories, the varied forms by which indigenous women represent themselves will be deconstructed with a view to answering the following questions: How do their self-representations compare across genres, for sample legal discourse, fiction, and visual
imagery? What if any patterns of discourse can we identify that contribute to a distinct indigenous woman-centred/feminist theory?
