New spring semester 2013 course for First Year Students:
Liberal Education 2850 Section A: Mapping Self, Career, Campus and Community
Too often we live in a community without really knowing it. This first year experience course is designed to introduce you as new students to your own community and your place in it. It is a unique course that combines academic work with career development. There will be lectures with some of the UofL’s best instructors, along with labs and group activities outside the classroom. You will leave the course knowing your campus better and understanding what it offers you. You will also learn valuable mapping skills that will be useful no matter what your major is. At the same time, you will earn GLER credit and meet some of the most dynamic teachers on our campus. This course will build traditions and local knowledge, while bringing lectures alive through practical engagement.
