The University of Lethbridge, Faculty of Health Sciences invites you to attend our annual Una Ridley Health Sciences Lecture given by Dr. Patricia Martens, Director of the Manitoba Centre for Health Policy and Professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Manitoba.

November 21st, 2012 from 5-6 pm
Markin Hall Atrium - University of Lethbridge

Dr. Martens’ lecture, Dressed for success: policy-relevant population health research, will highlight the three “pillars” of success – population-based policy-relevant research; world-class repositories of data; and knowledge translation strategies to enhance uptake by decision-makers. Using MCHP as a case study in “dressing for success” – what’s the basic little black dress, what’s the successful environment, what accessories do we choose, how to “mix it up” for different venues, and where is the ultimate destination for that success to occur (all dressed up and somewhere to go!). Intertwined her lecture will be a challenge to all in how we truly make a population healthier, and how we can shrink the gap in health outcomes.

Prior to the lecture students from across the Faculty of Health Sciences will be presenting research posters from 2-5pm. Please join us in viewing and discussing the research of future health-care professionals.
