Open Forums to Discuss Sexual Assault on Campus

The University of Lethbridge Campus Women's Centre, Lethbridge Public Interest Research Group, and Womanspace Resource Centre will be holding an open forum at 4:30pm at Galileo's Lounge on the 2nd floor of the SU Building for anyone to come and discuss the incident and the affects it has had on the community and on anyone personally. There is also a forum at 4pm in the Common Lounge in D Block of Uhall Residence. This will be held in a safe and open space that is available for anyone to come and enter into a respectful dialogue.

We request no media be present at the open house, for the comfort of those participants. We are happy to comment on it today or tomorrow before the open house is set to begin.

The Campus Women's Centre is available for all members of the university and offers casual peer counselling and referral services. The Centre is located in SP 150 and is open from 10:00-4:00 Monday through Friday. The Centre can also be reached by telephone (403-329-2094) or email (womens.centre@uleth.ca).

LPIRG is another campus resource centre that offers the opportunity to take action in solidarity with those affected. The LPIRG Centre is located in SU 242 inside Galileo’s Lounge, and is open from 9:00-3:00 Monday through Thursday. LPIRG can be reached by telephone(403-332-5343) or email (pirg@uleth.ca).

Womanspace Resource Centre provides off campus resources for all women in our community. We encourage anyone to make contact by calling us at 403 329 8338 or email at office@womanspace.ca.
