Condolence Notice / Memorial Service Date -- Xiaodong (Don) Li, Information Technology Services

The University community offers its most sincere condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the late Xiaodong (Don) Li, MSc, a U of L employee working in Information Technology Services (ITS) as a database administrator for the Systems group.

Don passed away after a lengthy illness, and while visiting family in China. He was 48.

Don is survived by his wife, Dr. Yilin Li, currently a Post Doctoral Fellow at the Canadian Centre for Behavioural Neuroscience (CCBN), Kolb lab; and a son, Tony, who is currently studying in his second year of engineering at the University of British Columbia.

Don and his family moved to Lethbridge from Michigan in 2003. He worked at the CCBN as a technician and programmer for researchers Robert Sutherland and Ian Whishaw.

In 2005, Don left the U of L for Athabasca University but returned in 2008 to work in ITS as a database administrator.

MEMORIAL SERVICE -- WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 3

A memorial service will take place Wednesday, Oct.3 beginning at 1 p.m. at Martin Brothers Riverview Chapel

A memorial service has already taken place in Don's hometown of Kunming, China.
