The 2008 Maclean’s Magazine survey of Canadian universities puts the University of Lethbridge in the Top Ten ranking for Primarily Undergraduate institutions, and in a 7th place tie with the University of Prince Edward Island.
Complete results for the 18th annual survey will be available on the Maclean’s website at: http://oncampus.macleans.ca/education/
“It is always nice to be in the top 10, and the rankings have always been a reasonable snapshot of how we compare with other universities across the country -- but there are other measures to a school you can’t quantify,” said U of L President Bill Cade.
“We are providing an engaging place for people to learn, and we know that our students value their experiences here – they tell us through independent satisfaction surveys and by other means that we’re doing a good job.”
The U of L and other institutions are independently surveyed by a number of organizations including the Alberta government, a recent external survey by the Globe and Mail and continuing survey by a consortium Canadian Universities.
The University of Lethbridge Accountability website, which includes employment, financial and other survey indicators pertinent to the University of Lethbridge, can be found here: http://www.uleth.ca/accountability. It contains the same publicly-available information obtained by Maclean’s for the 2008 survey.
