The Let’s Talk Science Program at the University of Lethbridge offers exciting scientific activities for youth on campus as well as in schools across Southern Alberta.
We are part of the national Let’s Talk Science network of enthusiastic undergraduate and graduate students working together to make a difference in the science literacy of young Canadians (http://www.letstalkscience.ca/uleth).
Currently, we have two vacant positions as program coordinator and as life-science coordinator with the University of Lethbridge Let's Talk Science Program.
This is an opportunity to become more involved with the management, planning and event development side of the program. A coordinator position is highly rewarding and comes with many benefits. The current closing date for applications to the position is March 28th 2013.
The Program Coordinator Position
You will recruit, support, and manage volunteers and educators. The job involves maintaining strong communication with teachers, volunteers, other Site Coordinators across Canada, Let’s Talk Science National Office and local program supporters.
The Life-Science Coordinator Position
You will develop and test new science activities, create and maintain activity kits, organize special science events such as the annual Let’s Do Science Day, and conduct school visits in particular in aboriginal communities.
We are offering an information session for all interested candidates on Tuesday, March 26th at 12:15-1:15pm in A832. You will have the opportunity to meet the current coordinators and the Faculty Supervisor and to discuss any questions you may have.
For further questions and detailed descriptions of the positions, contact the Faculty Supervisor, Dr. Ute Wieden-Kothe by email: ute.kothe@uleth.ca
