The Lethbridge International Film Festival kicks off Monday, March 18 beginning at 7 p.m. in the Theatre Gallery of the Lethbridge Public Library.

Admission is free but donations are accepted. These thought-provoking films are presented with a discussion following.

March 18 -- Chasing Ice - Award-winning, breathtaking time-lapse photography of the Arctic's receding ice sheet presents dramatic visual evidence of climate change. (Discussion Host, Dr. Hester Jiskoot)

March 19 -- Farmageddon - Small family farms providing safe, healthy foods to their communities in America forced to stop by misguided government bureaucracies. (Discussion Host, Dr. Mark Goettel)

March 20 -- Rebelle (War Witch) - Poignant, harrowing portrait of a 14-year old African girl forced to become a child soldier. Nominated for an Oscar as best foreign-language film. Violence, mature audience. Presented by cineMAGINE. (Discussion Host, Henri G. Mbatika Matamba Harusha)

March 21 -- Samsara - A spellbinding visual introduction to a varied world of sacred grounds, disaster zones, industrial complexes and natural wonders. Filmed in 25 countries on five continents. (Discussion Host, Dr. Hilary Rodrigues)

March 22 -- Honour Of The Crown - Relevant to the Idle No More movement, a behind-the-scenes look at the turbulent final years of one First Nations' struggle to force the Federal Government to honour the promises made in an 1899 treaty. Filmed in northern Alberta and Ottawa. (Discussion Host, Autumn Eagle Speaker)

March 23 -- Happy - An award-winning film that takes us on a journey from the swamps of Louisiana to the slums of Kolkata in search of what really makes people happy. (Discussion Host Mark Rejman)
