The Faculty of Education Field Experiences Office requires the services of an Administrative Assistant I to commence work as soon as possible. This is a project position for approximately 1 year providing administrative support to the Assistant Dean in the placement of student teachers in practica.
Reporting to the Assistant Dean, Field Experiences the primary responsibilities will include providing service-oriented support to students, Teacher Associates, and Faculty, assist in the placement of undergraduate students in the schools and the corresponding data entry, and handle initial contact with the Field Experiences office.
Other duties include gen4ral office support including answering inquires, preparing statistics for reports; preparing and distributing list serves; verifying and printing student expense cheques and preparing student orientation packages.
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $2,639.00 - $3,059.50 per month.
The successful candidate will possess a College Diploma and several years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent interpersonal skills with exceptional telephone manners and demeanor are required. A good knowledge of office administrative procedures and the ability to work in a fast paced office are essential. The expert use of technology including databases, Microsoft Office Suite, Internet, and email is imperative. This is a service-oriented position requiring the ability to develop and maintain effective professional relationships with school administrators, teachers, students, and faculty members. Experience working in an academic environment would also be a strong asset.
