Notice to all Departments and Instructors
Re: Whiteboard Problems in Classrooms
Please note that we are having problems with many whiteboards in classrooms throughout campus. Some brands of whiteboard markers are very harsh, difficult to erase or are leaving “ghost writing” after being erased result in damage to the surface of the boards.
Please use ONLY “EXPO” whiteboard pens on the boards on campus. These pens can be purchased through Corporate Express or at a local stationary supply store. Other pens (especially “Expo2” and the brand “BIC”) are creating these problems. Please NEVER use permanent markers on the whiteboards.
Also, please note that all instructors are requested to erase their boards before they leave the classroom so that the boards are clean for the following class.
Caretaking cleans all classroom boards daily, staring at 5:00 a.m. Boards with damaged surfaces are specifically treated as needed.
Physical Plant thanks all instructors very much for assisting us to eliminate these concerns and problems in your classrooms.
