First Nations' Governance Major
What is First Nations' Governance?
Unique in its approach to aboriginal education, the Bachelor of Management in First Nations' Governance (FNG) offers an interdisciplinary education in a challenging, respectful and academic environment. The programs present a unique blend of studies in First Nations governance and core business concepts, providing graduates with skills to take leadership roles in their communities and in management, entrepreneurial enterprises, band administration, First Nations liaison work, and self-government.
The program was developed by the Faculty of Management and the Department of Native American Studies. Students in the program will have access to support services including access to elders, award-winning faculty members, mentoring, small class sizes, interactive learning and the opportunity to participate in an active and supportive Native American Students’ Association.
Because the University of Lethbridge is situated in traditional Blackfoot territory, as a matter of respect students are required to take one course in either Blackfoot or Cree.
